You
are already a winner, or in the process of becoming one!
The fact that you are now reading these words means that
you are an adventurous person with the desire to discover,
explore and develop the latent abilities of your mind and
body. You also wish to focus these abilities to hone your
"inner edge", improve your productivity and live
up to your highest potential. You hold in your hands an
experiential learning system designed to help you do this
and achieve self-defined success with Internal Technology
(I.T.).
What
is success? Many people think of success in outer-directed
terms. To them success means things like career advancement,
increased income, higher professional/social status, etc.
These are all extremely compelling and worthwhile ambitions,
to be sure!
Other
people think in more inner-directed terms. They seek to
enrich their inner experience of life, achieve fulfillment
and inner peace, and to discover and actualize their full
human potential. Again, all highly desirable and rewarding
goals.
"Outer"
success is often competitive in nature and requires being
personally effective and performing better than others.
The competition for the higher rungs of external success
and wealth accumulation can be pretty stiff. You need an
"edge", an advantage that puts the odds more in
your favor. I.T. can give you that
edge!
Focusing
on inner goals often requires competing against yourself
(or, at least, the negative aspects of your mind). You must
continually defeat apathy, self-doubt, depression, cynicism
and other forms of energy robbing negativity. Inner goals
require discovering, experiencing, and developing your full
human potential. I.T. will introduce
you to latent capabilities of mind and body and a depth
of personal power that you may not be fully aware of possessing!
The
fact is that our inner and outer worlds share a symbiotic
relationship. The stronger we become internally, the easier
it is to achieve success externally. The more worldly success
we enjoy, the more free we become to devote time and energy
to actualizing our full inner potentials.
The
quest for external success is strongly facilitated by accessing
and developing inner resources such as motivation, confidence,
and the ability to remain optimistic and focused even in
the face of adversity. Conversely, having the time and energy
to devote to the cultivation of your full inner human potential
can be difficult without the financial freedom that a degree
of external worldly success provides.
The
good news is that it is possible to cultivate outer and
inner success simultaneously by practicing a small, manageable
number of core skills common to both. I.T.
is comprised of these core skills.
I.T.
is an integrated system of proven, research-based techniques
and principles which will help you to be more effective
in procuring a higher quality of life and more affluent
future for yourself, your family and/or loved ones. It will
aid you in achieving a higher degree of self-defined success,
fulfillment, and financial and personal freedom. It will
do so by guiding you in developing your God-given inner
resources and some carefully chosen functional skills.
This
course will be of tremendous value to people willing to
adopt an action orientation. I.T.will
benefit people who acknowledge that their ultimate level
of self-defined success, income and quality of life depends
on their own personal performance, productivity, creativity,
initiative and motivation -- or on their ability to facilitate
productivity in others.
To
make such an acknowledgment means that you have accepted
responsibility for where you are and what you have presently
accomplished in your career and personal life. This doesn't
mean that it is necessarily your fault if you have encountered
adversity and presently find yourself in a less-than-optimal
life situation. You are not to blame, but you are responsible.
To be response-able means that you are able to respond to
your life's contingencies. If you were not responsible,
you would have no control over your future.
I
admire people who acknowledge their responsibility in this
manner. It is an awesome, sacred responsibility. It demands
that they not waste time making futile excuses, but instead
go forth to procure the highest possible level of prosperity
and security for themselves and their loved ones, through
their own efforts.
To
train yourself to be a Winner is not an act of greed but
of nobility! Is it not noble to want to go out as a warrior
into life's battles, defeat adversity, and with your own
hands create whatever you and the people you love need to
grow and prosper? It isn't greedy to want to be your best
and do your best. It is an honorable, satisfying duty.
If
you are:
· an
action oriented "seeker" desiring to explore and
actualize the full capabilities of your mind, body and potential,
·
an ambitious, entrepreneurial minded business-person, salesperson
or professional who desires to achieve even
higher levels of performance and success in your chosen
field,
· an
individual (regardless of profession or status) who wants
to achieve valued, self-chosen non-economic goals,
·
an executive, manager or supervisor who needs to set an
example and inspire others toward optimal performance,
·
an individual who recognizes that their compen-sation and
success depends on personal produc-tivity, performance
and creativity;
· a
young person wishing to excel academically and/or athletically
in school or at a new job,
·
a person who is or who desires to become self-employed or
a free agent,
·
a non-professional who has newly awakened to a strong desire
to improve their performance and position in
life,
·
a person already near the top of your game who desires to
push to a new level,
·
a person needing to "gear up" for a big project,
job hunt, business or life challenge,
· someone
needing to overcome adversity and obstacles and establish
forward momentum in your Quest to get
ahead financially,
· an
individual willing to reality test possible self-limiting
beliefs about your capabilities, or
·
a person with the "will to win",
then
this training course can guide you in discovering a treasure
chest of powerful inner resources and latent mental/physical
functional capabilities that significantly exceed your "normal,"
current level of personal effectiveness! It will guide you
toward focusing your newly realized capabilities in a way
that will get you where you want to go!
You
can enjoy more self-defined success through the utilization
of scientifically proven techniques of modern, Western behavioral
science proven to boost performance and sustain motivation.
In addition you will experience principles and an "inner
technology" adapted from the ancient Eastern martial
arts for achieving personal power and "martial spirit"
to triumph over adversity!
These
techniques and strategies are easy to learn, quickly implemented
and powerful, but remain little known and under-utilized.
Their use will help you to achieve mental clarity and non-distractible
focus regarding task-relevant cues, make fast, effective
decisions in rapidly changing situations, and enhance strategic
thinking. They will also help you to maintain an optimistic
attitude while strengthening your creative problem solving
ability during inevitable setbacks as well as develop a
fierce determination and high level of self-motivation.
I.T. will teach you to focus your
inner resources in an amazing, special way that will raise
your performance level during the critical situations that
are most important to your progress. You can always be at
your best when it truly counts!
You
may feel that you have worked hard to get where you are,
and assume that to achieve an even higher level of personal
performance and success would require a correspondingly
greater amount of discipline and effort. Reaching a higher
level of achievement, satisfaction, success and fulfillment
doesn't have to be that hard!
I.T. is a streamlined system that
will allow you to leverage a relatively small amount of
extra energy into a quantum jump of personal effectiveness
and productivity. Experiential exercises (experiments that
help you to immediately feel and personally experience your
expanding capabilities) will give you an intoxicating sense
of new confidence, power and possibility and awaken you
to your full potential. If you feel like you have been chugging
down the road to success in an old, slow jalopy, you will
suddenly discover that I.T. has put
you behind the wheel of a racecar!
You
can accomplish this by practicing the I.T.
Training Program fifteen to twenty
minutes a day, at least five days a week, for three weeks.
Once core skills have been learned and integrated into your
daily life, proficiency can be maintained by as little as
five minutes of enjoyable, relaxing mental training, at
least every other day.
I.T.
is Research-Based but is Expressed in Non-Scientific, Every-Day
Terms
This manual would have been written differently if it had
been targeted at behavioral scientists. Instead, I've had
it reviewed by several non-scientists who helped me to recognize
and change terms with which lay people might not be familiar.
Keep in mind, however, that although I've chosen to present
I.T. in plain, everyday language,
it is based on techniques and principles that have been
tested scientifically through millions of dollars of research
done with real people in the real world, to see if they
really work.
They
really do! That means you are guaranteed a superior ROI
(return on investment) for the relatively small amount of
time and energy you must invest in I.T.
to experience and utilize it.

About
the Experiential Exercises in this Course
If it is true that a picture is worth a thousand words,
then it must also be true that an experience is worth a
thousand pictures!
Much
of this course is experiential (based on your personal experience
of the exercises instead of just words). Instead of just
passively reading about things you are expected to feel,
relate, sense, think, compare, and participate. This program
is action oriented, not a passive academic exercise.
Some
of the experiments and exercises require testing yourself
against moderate physical resistance supplied by a partner.
It would be desirable if there was not a great disparity
in muscular strength or height between you.
Please don't let the word "exercises" put you
off. The activities involved are non-arduous. You will find
that they are enjoyable. You will feel pleased, surprised--perhaps
even in awe of your developing capabilities!
Approach
these experiments with an open mind, putting aside critical
attitudes until afterwards. You will want to let yourself
enjoy the feelings of growing personal power, inner strength,
and self-discovery that they engender. Experience first,
analyze later!
Overcoming
Personal Inertia
Often
the hardest part of self-improvement is getting started.
To achieve anything worthwhile we must overcome personal
inertia. One cause of inertia is depression.
It
is been estimated that 25% of the population is undergoing
at least a mild episode of "normal" depression
at any one time (Seligman, M. Learned Optimism, New York,
Alfred A. Knopf: 1991, pg. 55). Some of us may harbor a
chronic low level depression which takes the form of a subconscious
but pervasive fog of low self-esteem, anxiety, discouragement,
boredom or apathy.
These
negative feelings are the enemies of performance and achievement.
They rob us of our vitality. They make us feel like we are
just too busy and strained muddling through the day to worry
about growth and self-improvement. It can all seem like
just too much trouble. We sleepwalk through the precious
days of our lives. We may not acknowledge or be aware of
these emotional obstacles to success, but we could certainly
feel much better and be more productive without them.
Letting
yourself feel the excitement of the I.T.
exercises will help you to "wake up" if you've
been sleepwalking. Allowing yourself to be emotionally open
to a sense of excitement and personal discovery during the
exercises will jump-start your motivation, enthusiasm and
self-esteem. Such feelings are part of the "optimal
performance state" that you will discover you are capable
of entering at will.
Part
of the training consists of a conditioning process that
involves cultivating motivating, energizing emotions, while
pairing them with specific cues/techniques. By focusing
on the same cues and perform-ing the same techniques in
future performance situations, you will be able to call
up the emotions which help you to perform at your best.
The
research and rationale behind each exercise will be offered
after you have experienced its energizing effects. That
will be the proper time to judge the worth and relevance
of the techniques with a critical mindset.
Enhancing
Your Self-image
It
has also been said that a person cannot consistently perform
at a level which is not congruent with their self-image.
Self-image is an important performance factor and influences
your lifestyle choices. The clothes you wear, your choice
of leisure activities, the kind of car you buy, your health
and eating habits, and the level of financial success you
aspire to are reflections of who you think you really are
inside.
A
healthy self-image is necessary for self-esteem, which research
indicates is the most fundamental need to be met to promote
happiness (Sheldon, K., author of three studies on the subject
published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology,
Vol. 80, No. 2.)
The
I.T. experiential exercises will expand
your self-image and enhance your self-esteem. When you are
ready to apply I.T. in your daily
life, you will be in awe of how much more you are capable
of -- at work, in sports, in school, and/or in pursuit of
valued self-chosen goals. Just don't fight the process by
trying to remain emotionally unaffected, cool and aloof
while performing the experiments. Let yourself get excited
about yourself as part of the training process!
Cost/Benefit
Analysis Of Participating In
The I.T. Training Program
Your
time is valuable. Before committing yourself to a training
program you want to know just what it will cost you in terms
of time and energy. You will also want to know how much
benefit your investment will gain you.
The
I.T. Training Program has been designed
to be as quick, easy and fun to experience as possible.
Learning is much easier when it is fun!
The
5 Modules
Module
One
This module guides you in experiencing two basic, well-researched
techniques: (1) mental rehearsal (involving the pictures
you see inside your head) and (2) cognitive hygiene (involving
the words you say to yourself internally). You will find
that understanding these two simple techniques will enable
you to program your powerful biocomputer for optimal performance
and success in the language it understands: mental pictures
(imagery) and words (cognitions).
These
are not new techniques. They have been very well researched
and proven effective. Yet they remain little-understood
and under-utilized by the general public. You will find
that experiencing how to use them in a consistent and systematic
manner will gain you a powerful edge!
Module
Two
There are just two more techniques to master!
You will be introduced to the amazing focusing
and winning feeling techniques
in this dynamic module. They will help you to "enter
the zone" at will and access your most powerful functional
capabilities when you really need them. You will find that
you can achieve optimal performance in the execution of
your success plan!
Module
Two will convince you that there is more to you than you
realize! It will give you the key to unlock a treasure chest
of latent abilities and personal power within you. You will
be awed at what you are capable of!
Most
of us have some sort of appetite for excitement and wonder
and wish for something we can feel justified in getting
excited about. This section will convince you that you can
get excited about yourself, your growing capabilities and
your brighter future!
Module
Three
The preceding module will guide you in testing and feeling
the power of I.T. during controlled
experiments. Module Three will show you how to "get
real" and apply your new power to give you an edge
in life. It will show you how to internalize your new skills
and integrate the techniques you've experienced into your
daily life and work quickly, efficiently -- and enjoyably!
You will be shown how to customize the techniques you have
learned to match your own personal goals and desires in
order to achieve what you want!
Module
Four
This module addresses the issues of martial spirit, persistence
and motivation in actualizing your dreams.
You will be introduced to what has been called a "revolutionary
new way of looking at motivation." A research based
strategy that will help you to both enjoy yourself on a
daily basis and remain enthusiastic over time while working
toward valued long term goals will be outlined.
You
will also experience the "sweet spot", a state
of mind and body that is so powerful, exhilarating and intensely
enjoyable that it is desirable as an end in itself as well
as a tool for effective self-motivation!
Would
15 to 20 minutes a day of training time be worth it if you
knew it would help you to dramatically increase your personal
power and effectiveness at procuring a better job, more
income, entrepreneurial success or valued non-economic,
personal goals?
Would
you be willing to spend 15 to 20 minutes a day to add an
immediate sense of exhilaration and enhanced enjoyment to
your daily life?
Would
15 to 20 minutes of daily, pleasant, relaxing yet invigorating
mental training practice be worthwhile if it helped you
achieve a renewed sense of enthusiasm, inner peace and harmony,
and the satisfaction of actualizing your full human potential?
Module
Five
This module is for coaches, managers, supervisors, and anyone
else who desires to motivate and inspire others to achieve
optimal performance and productivity.
You
can enjoy all the benefits outlined in all 5 modules by
· experiencing four easy, fun,
powerful, and amazing techniques,
· spending 15 to 20 minutes
a day practicing your new skills as part of the I.T.
Training Program for three weeks, and
· following easy, explicit
instructions on how to efficiently integrate your new skills
into your daily life in a way that brings maximum
benefit!
After
three weeks you will have become so proficient at utilizing
I.T. that you can maintain skill by practicing as
little as five minutes a day, at least every other day.
Is this not a great return on your investment?
A
Word of Caution Before Your Adventure Begins:
I hope that by now that you are enthused and eager to start
on this adventure of self-discovery. We are ready to go
into action -- but first a word of caution. The techniques
and principles you are about to experience are deceptively
simple. They are basic and powerful. You've probably heard
or read about some of them. You may find yourself thinking,
"I've heard about some of this 'mind' stuff before.
What's new? Surely, something so simple can have only marginal
benefits. Why waste time on things that are so easy and
elementary?"
You
may have encountered some of these techniques before but
the odds are you haven't been shown how to harness their
true power in a dependable, consistent, practical way. PLEASE,
experience the experiments and exercises! When you do you
will find that the system may be simple, but there's nothing
simple-minded about its results. When used in the way you
are about to experience, the system's techniques will access
dormant capabilities within you that you may not even realize
that you possess!
It
is all here -- backed by research and experience -- and
it works! You don't have to
believe it. Just do the experiments, feel and enjoy the
results. That's the only way you can be in a position to
judge I.T.'s power and effectiveness
for yourself.
Be
warned: If you merely read about the exercises instead
of actually performing them as called for, I fear something
terrible might happen
nothing! Just reading
may give you knowledge about I.T.,
but mere knowledge is not power. Only actual experience
will give you enough faith in the techniques to apply them
in your daily life.
On
the other hand, if you follow this manual and perform the
experiments called for, you will be amazed at how much more
you are capable of at your work, and/or in pursuit of valued
personal goals!
It
is not a matter of finding a new, powerful technique that
no one has ever heard of to be your secret weapon. It is
a matter of taking what is already known and proven (but
little understood and under-utilized) and putting it in
a form that is understandable, readily assimilated, easily
remembered, practical to implement and incredibly motivating!
This has been done and is available to you now in the form
of this experiential course.
Ready? This
is going to be quite an adventure!
